New Users

Please download the Full 65 Mod and if you don't have it, the current version of GEM+2 get it here

- Install the 65 mod into your GPL installation

- Install GEM+2 if you have not already done so

- Run GEM+2, click on the Carsets button and make 1965 F1 (GPL65) an active carset

- Choose FULL65 or LITE65, the latter is designed for older PCs

There is also a high res version of the Lotus 33.  Get it here.  You will have to install this after installing the 65 Mod.

Existing Users

You have the option of downloading either the Full 65 Mod or just the 65 Mod Carset.  The Full 65 Mod comes with new team menu screens, but will overwrite any sound-set you've installed, so you would have to re-install any 3rd party sound sets (see links below for most of these).

If you are still running GEM +2 version 2.2.1 or 2.2.16 it should be updated

Some things to note

1. The installer is aimed at new users. Because the v2.0 carset is not compatible with v1.0, and because the method of changing options is to run the installer again selecting those options, it will delete your current 65 mod carsets. Old hands may prefer to point the installer at a suitable directory and do things manually, but beware of mixing and matching old add-ons; some may work and some may not.

2. The full carset uses GPLEA standard texture sizes and is voodoo compatible. There is the option to install high res cockpits for 4 of the cars. For those who prefer high res car skin textures, the stand-alone high res Lotus 33 v2.0 should be installed after installing the main mod. Get the high res Lotus here.  I hope to produce a stand-alone installer for Remy's high res Cooper skins in the future.

Alternative Sounds

V2.0 incorporates many of the graphical enhancements which have been released since v1.0 but the wide range of very good alternative sound sets released for the 65 Mod made it difficult to choose which was best.
